iOS 14.3 and iPadOS 14.3 features
A variety of features and updates are included in iOS 14.3 and iPadOS 14.3 such as ProRAW support, PS5 controller support, App Clips QR code scanning, and more.
When Apple introduced the iPhone 12 Pro series, it noted how Apple focused on the advancement of the DNG RAW image file format in a new Apple ProRAW format. This will offer users additional flexibility in how they can edit an image. With iOS 14.3, Apple added support for ProRAW image capture to the camera app. ProRAW capture can be enabled/disabled from camera settings or the viewfinder.
In the Health app, iOS 14.3 introduces a new cardio Fitness metric that is simply a calculation of the VO2 max, the maximum amount of energy the body consumes during exercise. With the Apple Watch, this feature will work in tandem. The score will depend on your age and the active nature of your lifestyle. This functionality is only accessible to users who are 20 years or older. When not working out, Wrist Detection for Apple Watch must also be allowed to test their VO2 Max.
What’s New in App Store
To highlight the App Privacy data feature, the 'What's New' splash screen in the App Store has been modified.
PS5 Controller Support
The latest PS5 DualSense controller Support is being added to iOS 14.3 and iPadOS 14.3 beta 1. It also provides support for a new Luna controller from Amazon.
Ecosia as Default Search Engine
Now, Ecosia can be set as the default search engine on your safari running iOS 14.3 beta 2 and iPadOS 14.3 beta Apple devices. Apart from Google, other choices include such as Yahoo, Bing, and DuckDuckGo. There is no news from Apple on the release of iOS 14.3 to the public, although it is likely to be released before the start of the holiday season.
