RootlessJB4 for iOS 12.0 - iOS 12.4.7

All iOS 12 versions now can be jailbroken. This good news has received with a hacker and a developer Brandon Plank's tweet last week. Brandon Plank tweeted that a new jailbreak called RootlessJB4 RC.2.0 has released with adding support to iOS 12 - iOS 12.4.7 on A7 - A11 devices.
That means all the iOS 12 versions can be jailbroken using this RootlessJB4 RC.2.0 jailbreak tool.

This jailbreak tool is more useful for old iPhone users. iPhone 6 plus below models not supported for any of the iOS 13 versions. iOS 12.4.7 is the latest version that supports for old iPhone devices. But iOS 12.4.2 - iOS 12.4.7 can not jailbreak using unc0ver or Electra jailbreak. But now iOS 12.4.2 - iOS 12.4.7 jailbreak is possible with RootlessJB4 RC.2.0.

A few years ago a hacker and a developer called Jake James released rootless JB for the first time. That rootless JB called rootlessJB 3.0 and added support to iOS 12 - iOS 12.1.2 versions.

Now Brandon Plank released a new version of rootless jailbreak called RootlessJB4 RC.2.0 with supporting iOS 12- iOS 12.4.7.

RootlessJB4 RC.2.0 is an open-source semi-untethered rootless jailbreak tool. You can install jailbreak tools and package managers by installing RootlessJB4 RC.2.0. But all package managers will not be supported.

What are the known issues with RootlessJB4?

There are few known issues according to the developer.

  • Saily cannot install some packages
  • Respring loop on first install
  • Kernel Panic on tweak install because of tweak inject.
  • may need to reboot to apply some tweaks
  • rebooting using the slider causes respring loop (just hard reboot)
  • probably more tbh.
